Greetings,
Kevin Davidrajan is currently pursuing his Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, building upon his strong foundation in Psychology, which includes a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto (UofT) and a Master of Education in Developmental Psychology from UofT OISE.
Kevin has dedicated his entire adult life to serving the Peel community. He has worked in various roles, including at the mental health units at Brampton Civic Hospital, teaching at the Dufferin Peel Catholic School Board, and participating in mission trips abroad through his church. These experiences have provided Kevin with the opportunity to offer care to individuals from all walks of life — whether sick or healthy, young or old, rich or poor.
“I believe that your experiences can paint a picture of who you are, but only you can define who you will be tomorrow." I view one’s life experiences as a beautiful and complex tapestry that forms an individual’s identity. I come to every client with respect and empathy, aiming to guide them toward the change they want to see—completely on their own terms.
What Sets Me Apart?
Having lived in Brampton my entire life, this community is my own. Coming from a blue-collar background, I’ve spent much of my adult life serving individuals from various ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds. My firsthand experience with the challenges faced by these diverse communities navigating modern society shapes my therapeutic approach.
I utilize a range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Self-Compassion-Based Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My work is informed by my years as a safety officer at Brampton Civic Hospital, where I witnessed the difficulties individuals face in mental health crises and the struggles to access the care they need.
I’ve also observed the challenges parents face when raising children and the difficulties students—both international and domestic—experience in navigating academic and work life without adequate support. These insights form the cornerstone of my counseling ethos. I believe that culture, upbringing, beliefs, and personal experiences make each individual unique, and I tailor my approach accordingly.
My areas of specialization include anxiety, emotional regulation, stress, school and work difficulties, addictions, and exploring issues related to religion and faith.
Your Partner in Healing, Growth, and Balance.
