Greetings,
Jose is a compassionate therapist and life coach with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology (MACP) from Yorkville University and a postgraduate degree in Business Administration. With over a decade of experience in multicultural integration, Jose brings deep cultural competence to his practice, building strong, trust-based connections with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
His clinical expertise spans a wide range of areas, including anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, stress, low self-esteem, grief, parenting, child development, behavioral challenges, communication, conflict resolution, relationship dynamics, and work-life balance. Jose’s approach is grounded in evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Humanistic approaches.
A former professional athlete, Jose continues to coach youth and adults in competitive sports—blending mental performance coaching with emotional wellness. His background in business and the manufacturing sector also equips him with a strong understanding of stress, performance pressure, and personal resilience in high-demand environments.
My therapeutic approach is holistic and client-centered, focusing on the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Each session with you will be uniquely tailored to meet you where you you’re your expectation for the session while helping you build practical tools to deal with emotional regulation, gain new insights about yourself and others, and become emotionally resilient.
I draw from evidence-based practices and offer spiritually grounded support when welcomed by the client. I believe deeply in the healing power of faith and hope, and I often return to this guiding truth:
“I’ve learned not to lean on my own understanding, but to trust that faith will always guide me forward.”
This foundation helps clients find courage, clarity, noticing negatives but embracing positive meaning in the midst of life’s complexity.
What Sets Me Apart
Drawing on my experience as a former professional athlete and a practicing therapist, I understand the pressures of performance and am committed to fostering a supportive environment for coaching youth and adults in competitive sports. My approach integrates mental performance training with emotional wellness.
What sets me apart is my belief in the power of partnership and authentic connection. I don’t just guide—I collaborate. I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and goals at their own pace.
I bring real-world insight and have supported a wide range of individuals, including:
•
Youth and caregivers affected by human trafficking, through psychoeducation and trauma-informed care
•
Individuals with high-functioning autism, fostering emotional growth and reducing stigma
•
Clients living with chronic pain, helping them find strength, fulfillment, and resilience
•
Men across life stages—from their 20s to 50s— addressing relationship and self-worth challenges through Happy Man Consulting and Promise Keepers, with a focus on emotional intelligence, confidence, and personal mastery
Whether you’re competing on the field, navigating life transitions, or healing from trauma, I’m here to help you perform—and live—with clarity, purpose, and strength.
