Build emotional resilience with DBT — a structured, skills-based approach to managing intense emotions and improving relationships. Available in Mississauga & online.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) was originally developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan to treat individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder, but has since proven effective for a wide range of emotional and behavioural challenges. DBT combines cognitive-behavioural techniques with mindfulness practices, helping you balance acceptance of where you are with the motivation to change.

At Inner Wellness Psychotherapy in Mississauga, our therapists use DBT to help clients who feel overwhelmed by intense emotions, struggle with impulsive behaviours, or find it difficult to maintain stable relationships. DBT provides concrete, practical skills you can use in everyday life.

DBT is structured around four core skill modules: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. Together, these skills create a comprehensive toolkit for navigating life’s challenges with greater stability and confidence.
